Tuesday.. -Oct, 6th, 1903. <br />The Board met in regular session, all members; being present. <br />The Electric Light Company were ordered to place a mid-nite lamp at the inter- <br />section of Marine street and -Indiana avenue.. <br />Petition asking that sidewalks on Madison street east from <br />roin ichigan tobehe first <br />alley east thereof be laid next to the curb and the sidewalk including <br />made 5' in width, granted. <br />JAI, <br />President. <br />SPECIAL MEETING. <br />The Board met in special session at 7:15 P.M. present members of the Board and <br />City Engineer and Clerk. <br />In the matter of the grade, curb. and walk improvement on Calvert street, under <br />Hearing was given on the assessment rarfindathatithe Estimat <br />improvement resolution #115. <br />No remonstrants appeared and no remonstrances were filed. <br />oa <br />property described in said roll is benefited respectively in the amounts of the assess- <br />ments shown on said roll. And <br />nmthe <br />llowedSept.that <br />23rd,the <br />1903�essment should belandithe same f <br />Sept. 23rd, 1903, and the Fia,l E Estimate a <br />hereby in all things ratidied, confirmed al:d approved. <br />Hearing were qp had on the Deelaratpry resolutet, undeforr r <br />treesolutions No 168,170 <br />Fog street, Ewing avenue, Indiana avenue and Poland s <br />189 and 1679 respectively. The Engineer filed his estimates as follows: <br />Indiana avenue 996.60; Ewing avenue $104.40; Fox street 362.20 and Poland street- <br />896.50. No remonstrants appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board find that <br />the benefits to the abutting property and to the City ofSouth <br />Bend are should al to the <br />same <br />estimated cost of the improvement, and said declaratory resolutions <br />are hereby in all things ratified - confirmed and approved. <br />First hearing on Vacation Resolution +24, adopted on the 19th. day of September, <br />1903, for the vacation of that part of an alley in the Burroughs <br />iaddition <br />fo o the <br />City of <br />ws: lying east <br />South Bend, lying south of lots 31 and 32 in said addition described <br />as of the following line and west of portage avenue; beginning at a point 14 feet north and <br />6.2 feet feet east of the northeast corner of lot 19, in the said addition, theneb south <br />42 degrees east to the south line of said alley. The Board finding no remonstrants present <br />and no remonstrances being filed, that said lots 31 and 32 and 169 17, and 18 in the Burr- <br />oughs addition to the city of South Bend owned by Fred W. Keller are benefited in the amount. <br />of $20.00. The Board accrodingly fixes the assessment of Fred W. Keller at 20.00. <br />property will be injuriously effected by such vacation. Now comes Fred W. Keller and waives <br />notice of amount of assessment and the hearing of the amount of assessment under Vacation <br />Resolution #24, and pays into the City Treasury of the City of South Bend, the sum of 20-.00 <br />without further proceedings.
