NEW BUSINESS <br />Mr. McMahon asked permission to.add Item "j" to the <br />agenda ertaining to Century Mall, and also to.di.scuss <br />this it am at this point in the meeting so as not to <br />detain Ir. Lloyd S. Taylor, who is here regarding this <br />item, a y longer than is necessary. <br />j. Mr. McMahon explained that many discussions have <br />tak n place over the course of the year about how <br />to est move forward on Century Mall, and what is <br />the best path to utilize in order to implement <br />what we have all envisioned downtown with respect <br />to etail and office development. Recent discus - <br />sio s have been held with The American City Corpora - <br />ti o , a subsidiary of The Rouse Company. <br />In 979 this entity did the original study for us <br />for both office and retail downtown. Based on con- <br />versations that we have had with The American City <br />Corporation, and those Mr. Richard Rosenthal has <br />had with the development group, we have come for- <br />ward with a proposal to utilize The American City <br />Corporation to update figures with respect to their <br />studies in market research, to pursue an earnest <br />site plan, cost estimates, financial analysis, and <br />development packages identifying all prospective <br />par icipants and their appropriate designation with <br />res ect to the project. The American City Corpora- <br />tior has indicated that they would be pleased to <br />wor in our behalf and that of people associated <br />wit Mr. Rosenthal over a 26 -week period in order <br />to ake us through this particular phase and move <br />us loser to what we would hope to envision to be <br />Cen ury Mall. <br />Mr. <br />for <br />and <br />Soci <br />Nimtz recognized Mr. Lloyd Taylor, Vice President <br />Development for St. Joseph Bank and Trust Company, <br />also President of the Northern Indiana Historic <br />ety. <br />
