South Bend edevelopment Commission
Rescheduled Regular Meeting - June 26, 1981
7. NEW BUSINESS
g. and 4. continued...
staff has been in the neighborhood conducting a sur-
vey as to financial need and rehab need with existing
houses and were not in a position yet to say that we
hav a specific program outlined, but what we are try-
ing to do is to find out what would be the most ad-
van ageous way of spending the limited funds that we
hav .
I w uld ask the Commission to allow us to draw up these
con racts, have them approved by legal counsel, and
per aps approved over the telephone by a quorum, not
including Mr. Nimtz.
Mr. Nimtz explained he is a member of the Board of
Dir ctors of both Historic Landmark Foundation and of
Sou hold Heritage, so there is no way he can act on
thi .
The e were no objections to having the contracts drawn
and Kevin Butler approving them and having a telephone
app oval,so the Chair directed that that be done.
Mr. Butler stated that the contracts should be ratified
at subsequent meeting.
Ms. Derbeck asked if the contracts would pay for the
ser ices.
Mrs,
wou'
an <
tea(
Lan(
be
tra(
phol
Soul
pore
off.
wou'
may[
Kolata stated that the one with Historic Landmarks
d be approximately $5,500 and will cover the cost of
rchitectural intern and someome with architectural
hing experience to supervise the project. Historic
marks will pay for a second intern since there will
t least two interns working on the project. The con -
t will also pay for brochures and for paper and
ography supplies - things like that. As far as
hold Heritage Foundation, we would be picking up a
ion of the cost associated with operating a site
ce and that has not totally been identified, but
d include a staff, probably one full -time person and
e one part -time.
10
