PUBLIC HEARING (continued) Mrs. Hernandez agreed with Mr. McMahon's statement but still feared that some people were still in danger of having their property taken and they would not have in- centive to put more money into the house. This would be defeating part of the purpose of preservi.ng that area as residential. Ms. Jea ne Derbeck inquired whether the properties being acquire today were mostly residential and whether they are bei g acquired for purposes of demolishing them. Mr. McMahon replied that 95 percent of the lots are either residential or vacant property plus the Franklin School playground area. We will be clearing the properties to make the land available for commercial or.industrial use in those areas and this will mean that the houses will either be moved to other areas or demolished. Mr. Nim z inquired whether there were any further comments, recomme dations, suggestions or any remonstrances to be present d to the Commission concerning this project. Hear- ing non , the public hearing was declared closed. 6. OLD BUSINESS There w s no old business to present to ,the Commission. 7. NEW BUSINESS a. Commission approval requested for Resolution No. 641, confirming Resolution No. 636 with respect to the. Monroe-Sample Development Area. Mr. Nimtz explained that Resolution No. 641 confirms Res lution No. 636 which was adopted some time ago, beginning the procedures which concluded with today's public hearing. On notion made by Ms. Auburn, seconded by Mr. Donald- son and unanimously carried, Resolution No. 641 confirming Resolution No. 636 with respect to the Monroe Sample Development area was approved. 8 NO OLD BUSINESS PRESENTED TO THE COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 641, CON- FIRMING RESOLUTION NO. 636 RELATING TO MONROE- SA. �PLE DEVELOPIMENT AREA WAS APPROVED.
