Pub is hearing on the East Bank Deg Areo and Commission Resolution No: lopment Mr. Nimtz declared the meeting open concerning the Public Hearing on the East Bank and Commis sio Resolution No. 632. Mr. McMahon presented the Commission with the following items and asked that they be entered intD the record: Original Notice of Public Hearing; Affidavit of Proof of Publication from the South Bend Tribune and Tri- County News; Affidavit that notice was delivered: to Area Plan Commission, Board of Public Works, Board of Zoning Appeals, Building Department, Park Department and that notice was posted on the bulletin board of the Board of Public Works; Area Plan Commission Resolution No. 55; a certified copy of Resolution No. 860 -81 of the Com on Council, City of South Bend, and a copy of Resolution No. 632 of the Redevelopment Com ission with a copy of the Development Plan att ched. Mr. Nimtz recognized and received the various legal notices, publications, affidavits and oth r documents and ordered them entered into the record. Mr. McMahon explained that this resolution was on inally adopted by the Commission on January 16, 1981, and that it pertains to declaring and estab- lis ing the East Bank Area an Allocation Area for pur oses of Tax Incremental Financing. As every- one is aware, we are currently pursuing the establishment of the tax incremental mechanism in Indiana. We hope to utilize that vehicle for fund- ing assistance in the East Bank area. The Resolu- tion has gone to the Area Plan Commission and the South Bend Common Council and to our knowledge there have been no negative remarks made at either of those two previous hearings, and both bodies hav chosen to act in support of our action in thi regard. -3- THERE WERE NO COMMUNICATIONS TO PRESENT TO THE COMMISSION
