South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Me ting - January 2, 1981
6. NEW BUSINESS
b. coilt inued ... .
Mr Robinson: Then the time limit is
go ng to run out on the bidding, and it
will be another expense again. Okay, the
next time I want to see what we are bidding
and what we are awarding.
Mr. Daren: I thought we were going to con -
ti ue the HUD Audit Clean-Up as we started it.
Mr.1 Robinson: No, not really, I want to know
wh t the prices are for.
Ms. Derbeck: May I ask a question, please.
Wh re is the money coming from for all of
this?
Mr.1 Nimtz: Community Development.
Ms. Derbeck: They aren't getting a special
grant from HUD to handle this? It is coming
out of Community Development money? This is
a loss because something else could have been
done with the money.
. Kolata: Yes.
Mr.l Daren: But it is money that should have
be spent the first time.
Mr.1 Cira: What is the total dollar amount so
Mrs. Kolata: I don't know.
Ms. Derbeck: If it was done right the first
tine then HUD would have paid for it, right?
Mr. Daren: No, the money would have come from
the same place.
Mr. Nimtz: These are things that should have
beea done to bring this thing up to code.
Tars. Kolata: They are all through the Grant
Program which is funded by Community Develop-
ment. So it is the same pot, it would have
just been done a year or two ago.
Mr. Cira: Again, it goes back to the lack of
the inspector's efficiency before and after the
job.
