OLD BUSINESS <br />There as no old business to present to <br />the Commission. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />a. Conmission authorization requested to <br />declare that part of the City of Sout <br />Be -referred to as the East Bank <br />De eloument Area as a bliQhted area. <br />Mr. McMahon: At this time due to my <br />nevness to this position and Mrs. Kolata's <br />veiy intense involvement with the development <br />of the plan, I will defer to her to'highlight. <br />Mrs. Kolata: We have prepared a Development <br />Plan for the East Bank and I will summarize that <br />now. The primary focus of the East Bank area <br />is on residential mixed -use development and the <br />ar a itself is divided into two sub -areas for <br />different emphasis. Area "A' is primarily <br />to be a multi- family area with supporting <br />commercial uses, Area "B" is proposed to be <br />a commercial area with some multi - family <br />included. In the plan itself we have set <br />ou self certain goals and objectives. They <br />aTE primarily to reverse the underutilization <br />of the existing conditions in the area <br />th ough creation of a residential -mixed <br />USE area. We expect it to be a medium <br />de sity pedestrian oriented development <br />that will have supporting commercial and <br />retail facilities. We want to see new <br />construction, and we want to see adaptive <br />re -use of certain existing buildings. That <br />wo ld depend uponthe character of the <br />building, as well as the structural <br />condition of the building. We also want <br />to create an attractive park setting <br />to complement the riverfront in the <br />do town area. That is of course the <br />pa k departments project with the <br />LETTER FROM BORGER /JONES & <br />ASSOCIATES, RECEIVED AND PLACED <br />ON FILE (RE: BLDG. INSPECTION <br />OF OFFICE BLDG. FOR THE HOLLADAY <br />CORP., RIVER GLEN OFFICE PARK) <br />NO OLD BUSINESS PRESENTED <br />TO THE COMMISSION <br />
