Aor i 1 25. 19 02 ' <br />Water Works clerk requested to advertise for bids for furnishing coal for the <br />City Water. Works from June lst, 1902 to. June 1st 1903, bids to be received up to 6 P• M- <br />on May 21st, 1902- <br />Representatives of local labor unions granted permission to use Howard Park on <br />Saturday evening April 26th for an open air meeting - <br />Engineer requested to prepare drawings and specifications for pipe sewers on E- <br />LaSalleI Avenue to complete the sewer ing of that Avenue; also for the cutting down of the <br />E. LaSalle Avenue hill at the Frances street intersection; also the grading of Notre Dame <br />street from Madison street to the 1st alley south of LaSalle Avenue • <br />Engineer reported drawings and specifications for the improvement of mellows <br />Dayton street, and Harrison Avenue - <br />street, Van Buren street, <br />In regard to the change of specifications for the°Wayne street brick pavement, <br />the board and the city engineer and a number of interested property owners went over the <br />street and. investigated the condition of the foundation- It was decided by the Board not <br />to interfere with the contract and specifications as originally drawn up- The clerk was <br />requested to notify the contractor to proceed with the contract without further delay. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 63• <br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City Of South Bend, Indiana: That <br />an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: The <br />grading of Harrison Avenue and the construction of cement walks and curbs on said avenue <br />from Michigan Avenue to 2uerbringer street • Said improvement shall be known and designat- <br />ed as"Harrison Avenue" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications <br />prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith- Notice of th6s resolution and pro- <br />posals for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published on the 26 day of <br />April and onithe 3 day of May 1902, in the South Bend Daily Trinune and in the South Bend <br />Daily Times- This Board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City <br />Hall on the 13 day of May 1902, at 7:15 P• M- and will receive bids up to 10 A• M- on the <br />20 day of Vlay 19 02 - <br />
