October 3. 1901. <br />Condemnation Resolution No. 3• <br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That <br />the following described property be appropriated for the use of said city: Beginning on <br />the south line of Midway street at a point 49 1/2 feet east of the north east corner of <br />Lot 1 in.Creed's Second Addition to the City of South Bend, thence east 49 1/2 feet, then <br />south 397 feet, thence west 49 1/2 feet, thence north to the place of beginning. The <br />following described property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such approp- <br />riation: Lots 1 to 11 inclusive of Creed's Second Addition to the city of South Bend, the <br />property of Jonathan P. Creed. Also the following tract of ground: Beginning at a point on <br />the south line 'of Midway street at a point 49 1/2 feet eastof the northeast, corner of lot <br />1 in 'Greed's Second Addition to the City of South Send, thence east 63 1/2 feet, thence s <br />south 113 feet, thence east 8 1/4 feet, thence south 284 feet, thence west 78 feet more or <br />less, to a point due south of the place of beginning, thence north 397 feet to the place <br />of beginning, the property of Lucretia Creed. The purpose of such appropriation is the. <br />widening of Main street to its full width of 99 feet Notice of this resolution shall. -be <br />published on the 5th day of October and on the 12th day of October 1901, in the -South Bend <br />Daily Tribune. This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 15th day of October 19.01 <br />at 7:15 P. M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested'in or affect <br />-ed by these proceedings* <br />Offer of C. H. French of property on corner of Michigan Avenue and' Wood street <br />for a Central Fire Station, 7800 square feet, for $4600.00, received and filed. <br />Petition for continuation of the Eddy street brick pavement from the north line <br />of Washington street to the south line of East LaSalle Avenue referred to the Engineer for <br />specifications. Work to be done in 1902. <br />C. H. Defrees given until November loth 1901 to complete his north Lafayette;St <br />contract and permission granted to begin as soon as two squares of brick were upon the <br />ground. <br />Bids received and opened for the Division street grading under Improvement Res- <br />olution No. 41; contract awarded to Harry N. Barnes at .17 cents per cubic yard. <br />
