June,27. 1901. <br />Engineer instructed to prepare description of -property Peliminary to condemnation <br />for -the widening of South Lafayette street from Ewing Avenue to Elmira street, the street <br />to be made 60 feet wide between such points. <br />Engineer reported a description for the vacation of part of St. Joseph street <br />between Vistula Avenue and Washington street. <br />Engineer reported specifications for grading Niles Avenue from Howard street to <br />Leeper Avenue. <br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 32. <br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,IndianaThat an <br />improvement bg made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as,.follows Grading <br />Niles Avenue from the north line of Howard street to the east line of Leeper Avenue. Said <br />improvement shall be known and designated as "Upper Niles Avenue" and shall be constructed <br />according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed <br />herewith. Notice of this resolution and proposals for bids for the execution of the above <br />work shall be published on the 28 day of June and on the 5 day of -July 1901•, in the <br />South Bend Daily Tribune and in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will give a hearing <br />on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 9 dad of July 1901, at 7:15 P.M. <br />and will receive bids up to 10 A.M• on the 10 day of July, 1901-. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION N0. 4: <br />ResoLved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That i <br />is desirable to vacate the following: All that part of St. Joseph street lying <br />between the south line of Washington street and the north line of Vistula Avenue, excepti: <br />a strip eight and one half (8&1/2)feet wide along the east line of said St -Joseph street <br />between said terminal points. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially <br />effected by such vacation; All of lots one(1)two(2)and three(3)in Vinson's Subdivision of <br />lot J in the City of South Bend. The property of Charles Vinson. <br />Part lot twenty-four(24)in'South Bend Manufacturing Comp anys Addition to the City of South <br />Bend, Beginning at Northwest corner, thence South to Southwest corner, thence East two(2) <br />chains, thence Northwest to beginning., also beginning at Northwest corner -thence east <br />fifty-six(56)feet, thence South twenty-eight(28)feet, thence North 63 degrees 26 minutes <br />West to beginning, owned by the Muessel Brewing Company. <br />Part lot One hundred and two(102)and part lot Onehundred and one(101)in the Original Plat <br />of the town (Now city)of: South Bend, owned by the Muessel Brewing Company. <br />Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 28 day of June and on the 5 day,of July <br />
