APRIL II, I90I 0 Petition of the Indiana, Illinois and Iowa R.R.Co•for the vacation of that part. of Baker street east of College street and west of the line of an alley running north and south between the east and west half of lots 35 and 26 and between lot 40 and the west half of lot 35- in College Grove Addition to South Bend, referred to the engineer fora report on the advisability of such proposed vacation. Engineer reported drawings and specifications for grading the alley from `east Jefferson street to east Wayne street between south Notre Dame and south Frances streets. Same were filed. Engineer reported grade line on B street from Michigan Avenue to the north end of B street. Approved. Indiana,Illinois a-Ld' Iowa R.R. and the Chicago and Grand Trunk R.R. notified to plane the crossing at Ford street on or before May Ist,I90I. Petition of Arthur J. Keltner and others for grading south Lafayette street and constructing cement sidewalks and cement curbs on both sides of said street from Ewing Avenue to -Elmira street referred to engineer for specifications - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION N0.8• Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend iIndiana: that an improvement be made of the kind.,size.location and terminal points as follows: tree grading of the alley from east Jefferson street to east Wayne street between south Notre Dame street and south Frances street. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "Notre Dame Alley ",and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications .prepared by the City Civil Engineer filed herewith. Notice of this resolution and proposals for bids for the execution of -the above work shall be published on the I5 th. day of April and on the 22 nd.day of Apri1,I90I,in the South Bend Daily Tribune and in the South Bend Daily Times. TAis board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 30 th. day of April I90I,at 7:I5 P.M•,an.d will receive bids up to 7 P.M. on the 7 th. day of May,I90I. Petition of Geo•M.Fountain to pave the first alley east of South Taylor street from west Jefferson to nest Wayne streets with brick referred to the engineer for specifications.
