This is EXHIBIT A, consisting of 13 pages, referred to in
and part of the Agreement between Owner and Engineer
for Professional Services dated __ _ 2020.
lrlglleel°'s Services
Article 1 of the Agreement is supplemented to include the following agreement of the parties.
Engineer shall provide Basic and Additional Services as set forth below.
PART 1— BASIC SERVICES
A1.01 Project Scope
The proposed project consists of corridor improvements and streetscape inoderniration at the 1,incoln Way
West and Olive Street node. The goal of this project is to enhance the existing property uses in the area
through upgrades to the adjacent public space and rights -of -way. This will be accomplished through
upgradcs to the transportatioil systems to better address the needs of all the users of this corridor and
streetscape improvements. These users include motorized vehicles, non -motorized vehicles (bikes),
pedestrians, shoppers, etc. The layout and design for this area will utilize the "complete streets"
philosophies as a guide
The project limits include Lincoln Way from Freemont Street to Huey Street and Olive Street from the
alley south of Lincoln Way to Vasser Street. The design of proposed improvements will include the
following:
Existing right of way within the project limits will be determined using recorded deeds, plats, and
field monumentation. A Location Control Route Survey will be developed to establish the existing
right of way for this project. The proposed improvements will be compared to the existing right of
way to discover if additional easements are necessary. It is anticipated that easements will be
required for sidewalk construction along Olive Street at the northwest and southeast quadrants.
Easement descriptions, drawings, and transfer documents will be created and used in conversations
with property owners to obtain any easements necessary.
Asphalt milling and resurfacing of all streets within the project limits. Design of milling and
resurfacing will include an evaluation of the existing pavement and curb elevations and establishing
proposed elevations to promote positive drainage and connection to adjacent properties.
A bumpout at the intersection of Lincoln Way West and Olive Street will be designed to better
control traffic and create a more pedestrian friendly intersection by slowing traffic and shortening
the crosswalk. The bumpout will also help to define parking near the intersection.
The existing storm water runoff is captured by inlets and distributed to a combined sewer system.
No existing dedicated storm sewer appears to be near to the project area. Stormwater management
will be analyzed to determine other avenues that to reduce the amount of storm water runoff being
collected by the combined sewer.
Page 1
(Exhibit A — Engineer's Services)
EJCDC E-500 Agreement Between Owner and Engineer for Professional Services
Copyright © 2008 National Society of Professional Engineers for EJCDC.
