South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Me ting —March 2, 1979
4. COMMUNICATIONS
There were no communications to come before the Commission.
S. OLD BUSINESS
There was no old business to come before the Commission.
6. NEW BUSINESS
a. Commission approval requested for Change Order #1
R. A. Stickler Plumbing for an amended contract total of
$4 7.00, at the address of 1036 Talbot Street, as set forth
in letter from Mr. James Harcus, Director, Bureau of Housing.
During rehabilitation of 1036 Talbot Street, contracted
plumber R. A. Stickler judged that while lavatory specified
for replacement could be saved, the kitchen facets were
leaking and corrosion had set in. Change Order #1 deletes
lairatory and adds kitchen facets without increase to contract
nr ce.
Mr. Donaldson made a motion to approve Change Order #1,
with R. A. Stickler Plumbing, seconded by Ms. Auburn,
and the motion was unanimously carried.
b. Commission approval re Vested for Change Order #2, R. A.
Stickle Plumbing, for an increase in contract price of
6 .00, for an amended contract total of $530.00, at the
address of 1414 E. Sorin as set forth in letter from
Mr James Harcus. Director. Bureau of Housing.
During a progress inspection of 1414 E. Sorin the general
co struction contractor advised the Bureau that he had prepared
the countertop for a double bowl whereas the plumbing specifi-
cations prescribed a single bowl porcelain unit. Deviation
from double bowl is rare and apparently the homeowner at time
of initial inspection expressed disapproval of cabinet drawer
space loss which would result from a double bowl installation.
During actual rehabilitation homeowner reversed his position
and requested general contractor to prepare for a double bowl-
contractor obliged but neither party advised the Bureau.
Ch ge Order #2 altering specification to double bowl unit
with fixtures, etc., results in a $65.00 cost increase.
Mr Robinson made a motion to disapprove Change Order #2, with
R. A. Stickler plumbing because they did not obtain Commission
approval prior to deviating from contract specifications, seconded
by Mr. Cira, and the motion was carried.
KA
CHANGE ORDER #1
R.A.
