COMMUNICATIONS, (CONTINUED) <br />Mr. Brownell read this letter from Mr. Powers, which was the <br />an ual request by the South Bend Tribune that they receive <br />written notice of all meetings of the Department of Redevelop- <br />me it in the calendar year 1978. All notices should be mailed <br />or delivered to City Desk, South Bend Tribune, 223 West Colfax <br />Av nue, South Bend, Indiana 46626. Request was also made that <br />if an emergency meeting is called, the same notice be furnished <br />to the Tribune as to the governing body. Further, if the notice <br />to the governing body is by telephone, the number to call at <br />th2 Tribune office is 233 -6161, extension 321 or 322. <br />Th� Chair directed that this letter be received and placed on <br />fi e. <br />Letter dated December 30, 1977, from Mr. Michael Collins <br />WN U regarding meeting notices. <br />Mr. Brownell also read the letter from Mr. Collins with a <br />si ilar request for notification to WNDU of any and all meetings <br />of the Redevelopment Commission. <br />Th� Chair directed that this letter too be received and placed <br />on file. <br />Mr. Brownell then pointed out ( "as Mr. Nimtz is aware ") we have <br />se it notices to all the media, of the fact that we have meetings <br />on the first and third Friday of each month during 1978 and <br />we also sent another notice that today's meeting was to be <br />held on the third of January instead of the sixth (that being <br />th2 first Friday of the month). These notices were signed by <br />Mr. Nimtz and sent "return receipt" mail. We have all the <br />re eipts back from the people they were mailed to - and have <br />placed them in the file. We also have on file an affidavit <br />fr m Ms. Jane Zimmerman that she mailed these letters. <br />Letter dated December 20, 1977 from Lloyd S. Taylor, Vice Pres. <br />of St. Joseph Bank & Trust Company, regarding Certificate <br />of Completion, Whitcomb & Keller Building. <br />C. Wayne Brownell read the letter from Mr. Taylor and indicated <br />that following receipt of the letter, we asked Per. James <br />Childs to examine the landscaping, determine if it has been <br />ac omplished according to the plans - and is complete. We <br />have a letter from Mr. Childs which states that he personally <br />vi ited the site and outlined his observations concerning <br />th landscaping. He indicates that it is substantially complete. <br />
