We expect to receive this check by
Tuesday and mail it in. HUD will send $1,100,000 and
Banker's Trust Company will provide $2,195,145.00.
Mr. Brownell indicated the receipt of IRREVOCABLE
COMMERCIAL LETTER NO. 1947 OF CREDIT from the St.
Joseph Bank & Trust Company on behalf of the investors
for the Century Mall project in the amount of $45,000.00
indicating the South Bend Department of Redevelopment
as beneficiary as part of the agreement signed by the
investors to insure our receipt of $45,000.00 in case
of default of the agreement. Mr. Nimtz requested that
this letter of credit from St. Joseph Bank & Trust for
and on behalf of the investors be accepted and approved,
notion made by Mr. Robinson for acceptance and approval,
seconded by Mr. Cira and unanimously carried by the Commission.
Mr. Brownell revealed at this time some renderings of the
'Midway Motor Lodge and Hoffman House Restaurant he had
received this morning from Mr, Gordon Medlock. Mr.
Brownell indicated that the structure would house 61 rooms
in a two story level with a sky dome swimming pool and
another three story level would have 90 rooms. The
restaurant appears to be one level and adequate parking has
been scattered around the entire complex. The developers
have requested an easement on Columbia Street which has
not been approved. 'Mr. Medlock insisted that this not be a
:formal announcement of the building of this complex, they
have applied to the Department of Buildings for permits,
and the Fire Department has been inspecting the plans. Our
Design Review Committee has tentatively approved this plan
subject to knowledge of complete financing plans.
Mr. Nimtz announced that the next regular Redevelopment
Commission meeting would be on December 16, 1977 at 10:00 a.m.
Mr. Cira moved for adjournment seconded by Mr. Robinson
and carried. The meeting adjourned at 10,45 a.m.
• .fr- =
