8. RESIGNATION <br />Mr. Brownell advised he has received the resignation of one of our RESIGNATION, <br />employees, Miss Patricia L. Joers, who is resigning effective today, MISS PATRICIA <br />Oct ber 1, 1976. L. NEXT COMMISSION MEETING <br />The next regularly - scheduled meeting of the Redevelopment Commission NEXT <br />will be Friday, October 15, 1976, at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., in the of- COMMISSION <br />fic s of the Department of Redevelopment. ADJ <br />There <br />being no further business, motion was duly made by Mr. Robinson, <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />seconded <br />by Mr. Wiggins and carried, for adjournment, at 10:15 a.m. <br />11. MEETING <br />RECONVENED <br />President <br />Nimtz directed, that the Commission meeting be reconvened, <br />COMMISSION <br />and <br />the record show that Commissioners Wiggins, Robinson, Donaldson <br />MEETING <br />and <br />Nimtz are present, and the Chair called on Mr. Lloyd S. Taylor, <br />RECONVENED <br />Managing <br />Agent, St. Joseph River Bend Development Corporation. <br />Mr. <br />Taylor presented Check No. 116, in the amount of $67,957.60, from <br />PARTIAL <br />the <br />St. Joseph River Bend Development Corporation, which is a partial <br />TAKE -DOWN, <br />take <br />down of Parcel 6 -1B. He requested it be made a matter of record <br />PARCEL 6 -1B, <br />that <br />there is a defect in the title presently, and that they are <br />R -66 <br />going <br />ahead and closing so that they can proceed with the construc- <br />tion <br />of the building. Mr. Taylor stated he would like to have some <br />assurance, <br />however, that this defect will be cleared up by the De- <br />partnent <br />of Redevelopment. <br />Mr. <br />3rownell advised that he is familiar with the matter and that <br />Mr. <br />3utler is also. <br />Mr. <evin J. Butler, Commission Legal Counsel, advised the defect <br />that Mr. Taylor is referring to is in the eastern area streets and <br />alleys--the eastern portion of the Downtown Project Area- -that have <br />not been finally vacated yet. In order to vacate effectively and <br />still retain a title in the portions of the streets and alleys that <br />are to be vacated, and, in turn, under the new replat rededicated as <br />port ons of streets or alleys, it is necessary to accomplish the <br />vacation and the replat simultaneously. The replat petition has to <br />be s gned by the Redevelopment Commission as the owner of much of <br />the roperty in that area and also has to be joined in by the other <br />prop rty owners this property abuts -- the.streets and alleys that are <br />being vacated. We have had some problem in obtaining the signature <br />of de owner of a portion of what is referred to as Disposition Parcel <br />Block 7 in the Royal Inn area. Mr. Earl Gagosian and wife own a portion <br />of that and we have been unable at this point to get their signatures <br />on it. Mr. Butler advised that he talked with Mr. Boynton on Wednesday, <br />
