REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 19, 2019 379 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 10:32 a.m. on Thursday, <br />December 19, 2019, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Board Members Elizabeth Maradik, <br />Therese Dorau, and Laura O'Sullivan present. Board Member Genevieve Miller was absent. Also <br />present was Board Attorney Clara McDaniels and Clerk of the Board Linda Martin. <br />Mr. Gilot noted the addition of a Request to Advertise for VPA Chemicals to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. O'Sullivan and carried, the minutes of the <br />Agenda Review Session, Regular Meeting and Claims Meeting of the Board held on December 5, <br />10, and 17, 2019, were approved. <br />ELECTION OF 2020 BOARD OF WORKS PRESIDENT <br />Ms. Maradik made a motion to nominate Mr. Gilot to continue to serve as President of the Board <br />for 2020. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried. <br />APPPROVE 2020 CITY EMPLOYEE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE <br />In a memo to the Board, Mr. Dan Parker, City Controller, presented the proposed 2020 city holiday <br />schedule, approved by the Mayor's Office. Upon a motion by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. <br />O'Sullivan and carried, the 2020 City Employee Holiday Schedule was approved as presented. <br />OPENING OF BIDS — SALE OF CITY PROPERTY — 901 E. MINER ST. <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referenced property. <br />The Clerk tendered proof of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune which was found to <br />be sufficient. Ms. Maradik noted this was a proposal request and the proposals will be scored based <br />on a matrix, it will not be the high bidder that is awarded necessarily. Therefore, the names of the <br />following proposals submitted were read into the record: <br />THOMAS & CONNIE UNDERLY <br />50960 Redwood Rd. <br />South Bend, IN 46628 <br />KENNETH L. KENT JR. AKA DCBA, LLC <br />3010 Hickory Rd. <br />Mishawaka, IN 46545 <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. O'Sullivan and carried, the above <br />proposals were referred to Community Investment for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF QUOTATIONS — CLEVELAND SOUTH WELL FIELD BULK <br />FLUORIDE TANK REPLACEMENT — PROJECT NO 118-021 B (RWDA TIF) <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations for <br />the above referenced project. The following Quotations were opened and read: <br />R.
