Johnson, Jr., Southeast Bureau of Housing, E -7.
Mr. Brownell read the memorandum from Mr. Johnson in its en-
tirety, which stated the specifications confirmed the furnace
and water heater and called for reroofing the rear porch and
for replacing siding 3' x 28' on the south side 6' front,
16' in rear, and paint two coats. Since the time of the initial
inspection, the condition of the above - mentioned items have
changed as follows:
1. The furnace blower motor, fan switch, fuse disconnect,
and the wiring have gone bad.
2. The water heater has no pipe leading from the pressure
release valve to 6" above the floor, which is contrary
to South Bend Code.
3. The sheathing of the rear porch roof has deteriorated
due to leakage through the roofing and will not allow
the contractor to properly install the roofing called
for on the specifications.
4. Although some of the rotten siding has been replaced,
there is still 112 square feet to be replaced which
may not have been seen at the time of the initial
inspection.
These conditions present a serious health and safety problem
and should be corrected immediately; therefore, the change
order is recommended for approval and brought before the
Commission for consideration.
Mr. Wiggins moved for the approval of Change Order No. 2 to
Rehabilitation Contract No. 16, for an increase in contract
amount of $689.30, or an amended contract total of: $7,647.69,
and contract time remains unchanged, with Ted Combs Decorating
& Construction, Inc., Southeast Bureau of Housing E -7 Project.
CHANGE
ORDER NO.2
TO REHAB.
CONTRACT
16, AP-
PROVED,
E -7
