5.
C:1
BUSINESS (Cont'd
back and give us a report on what they can do. Mr. Brownell
advised we will have that the first part of the week and will
report back to the Commission at our next meeting.
President Nimtz stated that we have a deadline of December
17th, at which time the thirty (30) days expire concerning
the bids and he would presume that we should have a Special
Commission Meeting prior to the 17th. Commission Legal
Counsel, Mr. Kevin J. Butler, advised we have until 2:00
p.m., on the 18th. The preference was to meet the day be-
fore, on the 17th, and the Chair requested a motion to that
effect.
Mr. Cira moved that the next Commission meeting be held at NEXT
10:00 a.m., on December 17, 1975, in the Office of the De- COMMISSION
partment of Redevelopment, which will be a Special Meeting MEETING:
of the Redevelopment Commissioners, in lieu of the Regular SPECIAL --
Meeting which would normally be scheduled for Friday, 12- 17 -75,
December 19, 1975. Said motion was seconded by Mr. Chenney, AT 10:00
and by unanimous vote, the next meeting of the Redevelop- A.M.
ment Commissioners will be on the 17th day of December,
at 10:00 a.m.
Regarding the question raised by Mr. Dan Caesar, WSBT -TV
Reporter, as to whether the Commission will have to accept
or reject the bids by the 18th, at 2:00 p.m., Mr. Brownell
advised in the affirmative and added it may be possible to
make an agreement with the bidder to extend that time. The
decision will be made and announced in the.Commission meeting,
on the 17th.
Ms. Jeanne Derbeck, South Bend Tribune Reporter, asked to
clarify the statement on the negotiations, as to whether
they are with the contractor, contractors, or the low
bidder only. Mr. Brownell advised that they have only
talked to the one contractor - -the low bidder on Contract
No. 10, The Hickey Company, Inc. The low bidder on the
landscape contract, No. 7, was Robert Foegley Landscape
Design and Contracting, Inc. The only discussion that he
had with Mr. Foegley was that the contractor wanted to ex-
change his bid bond for the certified check he submitted
with his bid.
EW BUSINESS
Change Order No. l to Rehabilitation Contract No. 27, E -7: CHANGE
Commission approval was requested of Change Order No. 1 ORDER NO. 1
to Rehabilitation Contract No. 27, with Barany Sheet Metal TO REHAB.
& Heating Company, for an increase in contract amount of CONTRACT
$951.00, (Contract: $5,600.00), or an amended contract NO. 27,
total of: $6,551.00, for rehabilitation work at: 1816 APPROVED,
South St. Joseph Street, Southeast Project E -7.
