4. COMMUNICATIONS (Cont'd
President Nimtz requested the record show that Commissioners
Chenney, Donaldson, Cira and Nimtz met with Mr. George Cressy,
between the last and this Commission meeting, concerning this
situation, and that he had referred this letter to Mr. Kevin J.
Butler, Commission Counsel, for reply. Mr. Cressy has talked to
Mr. Brownell in the meantime and also to him this morning, and
the President invited Mr. Cressy to the meeting this morning.
At this time of the discussion Mr. Cressy had not as yet arrived,
and Mr. Wiggins made the motion that this letter be referred to
Legal Counsel for reply. Motion was seconded by Mr. Cira and
carried.
Mr. Cressy arrived a few minutes later, and the President acknow-
ledged his arrival and informed him of the above action taken
concerning the letter from his principals. The Chair asked Mr.
Cressy if he may wish to say anything to the Commission at this
time.
Mr. Cressy said after the telephone conversation with Mr. Nimtz
this morning he felt he should appear before the Commission out
of deference to the people he represented as they had asked him
to follow up on the procedures that took place. He feels the
people in SSPF are fine people and he does business with them
every day and he wishes them the very best. The representatives
of SSPF, in good faith, did everything that they thought was re-
quired up to a point. This was not ,lust a last minute thing with
them, but a very concentrated effort on their part, because they
were operating under the plans that it was an open ball game,
and that they had an equal chance to participate,in the bidding.
They did this, they thought, to the letter without any contin-
gencies. Mr. Cressy said he thought that their plan and the
way they represented themselves was very good. The representa-
tives were very disappointed - -in fact -- quite shocked at the
turn of events in the last Commission meeting, and so followed
up with the above - stated letter and called him this last week
and asked if there was a reply from us to their letter. Mr.
Cressy said that was his reason for his call yesterday because
he did not know what procedure to take in that direction.
The President thanked Mr. Cressy for his appearance before the
Commission.
c. International Constructors Company letter dated October 6,
1975: This letter, over the signature of Mr. Gordon E. Medlock,
Sr., is addressed to Mr. Brownell, in acknowledgement of his
letter of September 18th advising he will not pursue a plan that
cannot be accepted under the current land use plan for Block 6.
Mr. Brownell read the letter in its entirety and advised that
he replied to the letter and thanked Mr. Medlock for his good
- 4 -
INTERNATIONAL
CONSTRUCTORS
COMPANY
BLOCK 6
PROPOSAL,
R -66
