7. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />5) C.O. #1 to Contract #41, with Ted Combs Decorating and C.O. #1 <br />Construction, for change in contract specifications for TO CONTRACT <br />for rehabilitation, with no change in contract amount, 41,'-E-7 <br />which is: $4,752.90, for rehabilitation work at: 307 <br />East Ohio Street. <br />On this C.O., Mr. James L. Johnson, Jr., in his written <br />memorandum substantiating the request, advised the speci- <br />fications called for the installation of a new gas conver- <br />sion unit in the present furnance. That has already been <br />installed by the homeowner. The contract itemized cost <br />for the conversion unit was $350.00. Presently, there are <br />no gutters or downspouts on this structure, and the dining <br />room walls and ceiling are in need of repair and painting, <br />which were not included on the original specifications. <br />The contractor is requesting permission to install 192 feet <br />of gutters, 40 feet of downspouts, and wire brush and paint <br />the dining room walls and ceiling in exchange for the $350.00 <br />which would have to be deducted from the original contract <br />amount. Since this contract completion date is September 21, <br />1975 Mr. Johnson has issued a Chief Inspector's Proceed Order <br />for the above work, and is recommending this change order be <br />approved. <br />Motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Donaldson <br />and carried, for the approval of the above change order, <br />as noted. <br />6) C.O. #1 to Contract #42, with Barany Heating and Sheet C.O. #1 <br />Metal, for an increase in contract amount of $160.00 TO CONTRACT <br />[Contract: $4,500.00], for an amended contract total of: 42, E -7 <br />$4,660.00, for rehabilitation work at: 221 East Penn- <br />sylvania Avenue. <br />Mr. James L. Johnson, Jr., in his written memorandum sub- <br />stantiating this change order, advised the specifications <br />called for rolled roofing on the rear flat section of the <br />roof, and that the contractor had informed him that rolled <br />roofing cannot be installed properly and that a built -up roof <br />is required. The work involved is to install three -ply hot <br />tar built -up roof on rear flat portion. Replace 15 square <br />feet of shingles on east side at cost of $245.00. The dele- <br />tion is for seal leak over kitchen with roll roofing on <br />back stairs 300 square feet, and the replacement of the <br />15 square feet of shingles on east side at $85.00, which <br />is included in the $245.00 amount, leaving an increase in <br />contract amount of $160.00. <br />Motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Donaldson and <br />carried, for the approval of the above change order, as noted. <br />- 13 - <br />
