5.
OLDIBUSINESS (Cont'd
Mrs. Janet S. Allen asked if we are going to use those two blocks
for parking- -angle parking - -or are we going to get some money to
paint the supergraphic area, even if.it was just sprayed on- -one
color - -one coat -- nothing fancy. President Nimtz advised that
parking is not under the Redevelopment Commission's jurisdiction;
the Board of Works is the one to contact to authorize the parking
there. Further discussion ensued on parking and Mr. Brownell advised
that he has talked to Mr. Farrand on this and that the Board of Works
is working on it, but has not been publicly announced as yet.
Mrs. Allen stated the Redevelopment Commission has control over
those two blocks, and, also, as we are talking about a fancy stage
for the Plaza, that we can certainly authorize a thousand dollars
to paint the supergraphic area on the street. The Chair advised
we will request the Director to discuss the paint with the River
Bend Plaza Advisory Committee to see what they will come up with.
We cannot authorize any paint for that right now.
NEWI BUSINESS
a. Publi-
cation is to be made on Friday, September 26, 1975. We expect
bidders to pick up plans starting on Monday, September 29. We
will hold pre -bid meetings on Tuesday, October 14, and open
bids on Monday, November 3, 1975, at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T.
This is to let you know, officially, that the bid documents are
here for your perusal, and we will have a review with the
architects on the 24th.
Motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Donaldson and
carried for the above authorization as specified.
b.
