Wi'lcox.,''Director of the River Bend Plaza Office, ad- R -66 <br />vised that June 29th is the lst Anniversay of the Plaza and he <br />is scheduling major activities for the 3rd and 4th. Retail esta- <br />lishments wil] be open on that Sunday , and`at the next meeting, <br />e will have an update report on that. <br />b. 3taff Reports: Mr. Brownell read all staff reports in their <br />ntirety. <br />1) Project E -63 Code Enforcement: Mr. John Davis, Project Direc- <br />E -6, CODE <br />for of the E -6 Program, in his written report, advised work <br />'ENFORCEMENT <br />is continuing in the E -6 Code Enforcement Area. Two contrac- <br />tors are engaged in physical rehabilitation for Contracts #4, <br />#6, #12 and #14, and that Contract #9 has been successfully <br />completed by the Michiana Construction Company. <br />Contracts #18 and #15 were opened for bids on May 12 and May <br />28, respectively. Contract #15 was a re- advertised bid in <br />accordance with HUD instructions that there were only two <br />bidders and both were over our cost estimates. <br />We are presently awaiting HUD approval of Contract #17 which <br />was awarded to Newbill's Construction Company by the E -6 Ap- <br />proval Committee on May 8. We are also awaiting a new wage <br />decision from HUD and we are hopeful th«t it will arrive <br />soon, in order that there will be no delay in the awarding <br />of further contracts. <br />Project-E-7. Bureau of Housing: Mr. Kenneth J. Schaller, <br />E -7, BUREAU <br />Project Director of the Bureau of Housing, in his written <br />OF HOUSING <br />report, advised as of June 3, 1975, there are 114 applicants <br />to the E -7 Program. The Advisory Committee has approved 71 <br />applications; 24 have been rejected, tabled or made eligible <br />for relocation benefits, and the remaining 1,9 applicants <br />are in various stages of the process of approval and /or re- <br />jection. <br />Twelve notices to proceed have been issued to a total of six <br />contractors. Work has been completed on four properties and <br />the balance of eight homes are in various stages of comple- <br />tion and the work should be completed shortly. <br />A total of 43 homes are presently on contract. Contract Set <br />#8 has been opened on this date for bids and includes ten <br />homes. Contract Set #9 will be opened for bids on June 17 <br />and is presently being advertised. Twelve homes are included <br />on Contract Set #9, which will be the final set issued for <br />- 11 - <br />
