4. COMMUNICATION'S (Copt'd <br />Requisition No. 7 for Relocation Grant Payment, same Contract <br />Project, has been approved, in the amount of'$9,282.00. <br />Check No. 6,824,073 dated May 5,`1975, has been received, in <br />the amount of $3,393,294.00, drawn on the Treasurer of the <br />United States to the depository designated and authorized by <br />our Agency, for deposit only for Project Temporary Loan, <br />drawn for: "Repayment. Fund Project IN R -66 Contract Indiana <br />R- 66(LG)." The check is to be recorded as a receipt in the <br />Project Temporary Loan Repayment Fund. <br />Mr. Brownell said what this means is that instead of owing <br />$10,150,000.00, we will only owe $6,745,000.00, as a result <br />of getting the Progress Grant Payments above. <br />President Nimtz further added this has been a result of pro- <br />longed meetings both by Mayor Miller and Mr. Brownell, and <br />the staff here, in Indianapolis, Chicago, etc. This is a <br />tremendous credit that we have received here. Commissioner <br />Wiggins also added that it will save time and a lot of money <br />and interest. <br />In reference to Ms. Derbeck's question if this amount is <br />what was discussed previously for the Project Notes, and Mr. <br />Brownell replied the $6,745,000.00 relates to the First Series <br />1975 Project Notes that we will be canvassing bids on May 20, <br />1975, discussed udner 4b above, and advertised in The South <br />Bend Tribune on April 29 and May 6, 1975. <br />h. International Constructors Company letter dated May 8, 1975: <br />This letter is over the signature of Mr. James McCutcheon, <br />President, relating to Block 6 proposed development change, <br />for Project Indiana R -66. Mr. John C. Fleck, the developers <br />architect, with Fleck & Hickey, Inc., architects, in LaPorte, <br />Indiana, brought the letter in this morning and the site plan <br />for Block 6 revised land use, to present to the Commissioners <br />and the public in this mornings meeting. <br />Mr. Brownell read the letter in its entirety. It is summarized <br />for the minutes. <br />This is to formally request "Block 6" be offered for bid. If <br />it is possible to accept the bid subject to later change in land <br />use designation, we would be happy to bid immediately in order <br />to accelerate this program. Your serious consideration of this <br />alternative is requested. <br />We hereby request a change in land -use designation. A minor <br />land use change is necessary to permit construction of a motel <br />and restaurant in addition to the current designation, and to <br />permit an increase in the number of residential units to a <br />number in excess of 200 as hereinafter suggested. We under- <br />stand that your approval of our proposed projects will be re- <br />quired prior to transfer of title, and must conform to all <br />zoning requirements then in effect. <br />PROPOSED <br />DEVELOPMENT <br />CHANGE, BLOCK <br />6, R -66 <br />
