6. NSW BUSINESS (Cont'd
2) Install waste line and vent to lavatory according
to plumbing code.
Commissioner Wiggins asked if the specifications regarding
the handrails are being followed, to which Mr. Keith P.
Crighton replied this is in addition to the handrail in
the specification. The occupant in the structure is crip-
pled. She had considered moving the bathroom downstairs;
however, the cost quoted was too high for her considera-
tion and the occupant agreed to another handrail on the other
wall which will enable her to get upstairs easier.
On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Wade and carried,
Change Order No. l to Rehabilitation Contract No. 2, in
the E -7 Project, was approved for an increase of contract
price by $126.00.
Change Order No. 1 to Rehabilitation Contract No. 12, E -7: CHANGE ORDER
Also, approval was requested of this Change Order with NO. 1 TO RE-
Madison Construction Co., Inc., with no change in contract HABILITATION
amount or time, for the following line item change only: CONTRACT NO.
12 APPROVED,
Addition: Install a 54" sink base cabinet with E -7
drawers; install 33 x 17 stainless
steel C/B sink with faucets and lines
for supply and waste.
Deletion: Replace 54" right -hand tub complete.
Mr. Mark S. Davis, Chief Inspector, in the E -7 Project,
for the justification of this Change Order, for work
at 612 East Keasey, in his written report advises that
upon careful examination of the tub at this property, the
homeowner and he agreed that it is not necessary to re-
place the tub. To the contrary, the old style provides
a necessary handgrip to the owner, as he has Parkinson's
disease and is subject to dizzy spells and needs this
assistance. The kitchen sink, however, is chipped and
rusted through, creating a health hazard. The staff's
suggestion was that a new 54" sink base cabinet and
stainless steel sink be installed.
On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and
carried, Change Order No. 1 to Rehabilitation Contract
No. 12, in the E -7 Project, was approved for line item
change only - -no change in amount or time.
Notice to Proceed, Demolition & Site Clearance Contract NOTICE TO PROCEED
37, R -66: Mr. Brownell requested this item be added to AUTHORIZATION
the Agenda.
