Estimate #15, Payment to The Hick Company, on Contract
No. 5, Phase I'II, R -66: Mr. C. Wayne Brownell requested
Commission consideration to approve Estimate #15 for pay-
ment, (re Clyde E. Williams & Associates letter dated
February 27, 1975), to The Hickey Company, on their Con -
tract No. 5,.,Phase III, in amount of $96,298.53, which
would leave a 3% retainage amount of $8,000.00 in their
contract. The $8,000.00 would cover any small items
that still have to be handled. They have a maintenance
bond for the maintenance guarantee.
Mr. James T. Zackrocki, Project Manager, advised that he
has responded to all letters sent by Messrs. Farrand,
Slabaugh and Tom Oesterling with Clyde E. Williams &
Associates, Inc. In response to Mr. Farrand's letter
on their maintenance agreement, the Pool "D" motor for
the fountain, in question, has been repaired for quite
some time; however, Ideal Consolidated did not think
it necessary to have it installed now as it only takes
a couple of hours to install it, and the pools are down
for the winter anyway.
Mr. Zackrocki said that as far as the lights are con-
cerned, actual fixtures have a warranty, but there is no
warranty on the bulbs requested. Bulbs are rarely a manu-
facturer's problem. That is why they furnished 112 replace-
ment lamps under Change Order No. 9.
Mr. Bill Slabaugh said he recommends we accept Estimate
#15 for payment, as the work left to do is very minor.
Others will be taken care of under the maintenance agree-
ment when and if they occur.
Mr. Edward F. Soltesz, Chairman, Governmental Coordination
Committee of the River Bend Plaza Advisory Committee, said
if we would go back several months on the pool at the ex-
treme end, there are cracks in the pool and the pools have
been down "x- amount" of times.
