8. QOESTION "AND ANSWER SESSION (Cont'd
a
10.
11.
Mr. Soltesz said the reason he brought it up at this
point is that it was discussed for the important factor
it has in the security of the whole scheme of things.
We cannot attach a security person to everything. This
just emphasizes that we can do it with minimums and still
have something for civil defense or anything else that
should happen. This is a good suggestion and it came
out in the Advisory Committee meeting.
Mr. John R. Kagel, Executive Director, Downtown South
Bend Council, said this was an excellent meeting. He
was sorry he arrived late due to previous commitments,
but advised he also concurred in the above comments.
These subjects were discussed a long time ago, and he
concurs for the solution of the problems.
ACTIVITIES FOR RIVER BEND PLAZA:
Mr. Hubert Getzinger, President, Downtown South Bend Council,
RIVER BEND PLAZA
a vised in last Tuesday's River Bend Plaza Advisory Committee
ACTIVITIES, R -66
m eting, they had discussed the possibility of putting in
m )re detail in the many future activities downtown. They feel
t at more should be going on in the area throughout the entire
y ar rather than just a few months of the year. They feel
ft is important and imperative that they have a meeting with
M% Louis N. Wilcox, Director, River Bend Plaza Office, and
s me of the other people who are interested in these activities,
aid have an ongoing program initiated. Perhaps they could call
oi volunteers for information, or citizens around the city, who
will contribute to this without a great deal of outlay of funds.
W2 must depend on voluntary help to put on this program and
gat everyone interested to make it work.
Mr. Brownell advised he will get with Mr. Wilcox, on Monday
u on his return, and see if we can't stir up some activities
f r public interest.
N:-XT COMMISSION MEETING:
NEXT MEETING,
FEBRUARY 21, 1975
Tie next meeting of the Redevelopment Commission will be at
1):00 a.m., Friday, February 21, 1975, in the Office of the
D partment of Redevelopment.
ADJOURNMENT ADJOURNMENT
(SEAL
ion for adjournment was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by
Chenney and carried, at 11:15 a.m.
9 vwru xssmwaaas
Brownell, Executi or F. Jay Ni tz, President
