6. NEW BUSINESS
Addendum No. 3 with the Southeast Side Project Area
Committee: The Redevelopment Commission had entered
into a contract with the Southeast Side Project Area
Committee, on the 21st day of September, 1973, whereby
P.A.C. was to perform certain community organization
functions for the Department of Redevelopment. Prior
time extensions have been granted at no additional
cost.
The Southeast P.A.C. has approximately $72.00 remain-
ing at the end of this year and is requesting time
extension to complete performance of this contract no
later than the 31st day of March, 1975. The original
contract was for a period ending in February, 1974, and
was then extended as HUD extended the time for comple-
tion of the A -10 Program; first until June 30, 1974,
and then until December 31, 1974.
Mr. C. Wayne Brownell, Executive Director of the De-
partment of Redevelopment, advised he recommends we
continue to work with these people and approve the
time-extension. The Southeast P.A.C. has been very
helpful in the Southeast Neighborhood.
Commissioner Wiggins asked if they can work with
that amount, and Ms. Glenda Rae Hernandez, Treasurer
of the Southeast P.A.C., advised they have no more
paid staff.
Motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney
and carried, for the approval of Addendum No. 3, to
grant the extension of time'to March 31, 1975, and
the Commission President and Secretary authorized to
execute the document.
Staff: Mr. C. Wayne Brownell advised he has been
requested by the Director of Community Development
to retain some members of the staff for a period
not to exceed three (3) months, at which time they
will be taken over by Community Development. Mr.
Brownell said he thinks this is advisable rather
than to lay off these people and later try to re-
hire personnel.
Commissioner Wiggins asked if this is a "retroactive
reimbursement ?" Mr. Brownell advised that it is,
and that the Department of Redevelopment will be
reimbursed for all costs for these people.
- 4 -
ADDENDUM NO. 3
APPROVED, A -10
PROJECT, SE #1
STAFF ARRANGEMENT
APPROVED, AS NOTED
