CUJ'Vei
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS: A Summary of Questions expressed by Contractors
at the Pre -Bid Conference with official responses are as follows:
I . Q: Is there a concern about potential gas line conflicts?
R: The approximate horizontal location of the gas line is shown on the
Plans. Depth is unknown. The potholing Pay Item is for sewer and water,
but the Contractor will need to locate the gas line. If gas is determined b
the Contractor to be in conflict with the proposed work coordination with
NIPSCO will be required. NIPSCO has indicated a willingness to resolve
potential gas line conflicts in a reasonable time frame, but the Contractor
should document delays due to utility relocations if such delays impact
project schedule.
2. Q: Can the overhead power lines be de -energized?
R: Utilities are aware of the project. The Contractor should coordinate with
AEP as to the potential for de -energizing or shielding the overhead power
lines. It may not be possible to fully de -energize the overhead lines due to
the potential impacts to customers. It was suggested that both NIPSCO
and AEP be invited to the pre -construction meeting.
3. Q: The proposed culvert appears to be close to the existing concrete
training walls.
R: These training walls are noted as retaining walls on Plan Sheet 9, and
designated to be removed by the Contractor in the Plans and Pay Items.
Enclosures: Revised Plans (17 pages)
PreBid Conference Meeting Agenda and Sign -In (3 Pages)
Revised Bid Forms (2 Pages)
7 of 7
