SION MEETING <br />As the Regular Commission Meeting, would normally, by <br />the By -Laws, fall on Friday, January 3, 1975, motion <br />was requested to allow the change and have both meet <br />ings in sequence. The motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, <br />seconded by Mr. Chenney and unanimously carried, that <br />a Special Commission Meeting be held, on Thursday, <br />January 2, 1975, immediately following the adjourn- <br />ment of the Annual Organizational Meeting, in lieu <br />of the Regular Commission Meeting on January 3, 1975. <br />9. JBIDS ON REHABILITATION CONTRACT WORK: <br />ommissioner Chenney stated he noticed that all the rehabi- BIDS ON <br />itation contracts were awarded to MADISON BUILDERS, and REHABILITATION <br />hey make out the bid for $5,000 and $5,000 is the limit CONTRACT WORK <br />nd he gets the contracts. <br />ommissioner Wade said this is a point well taken, but to <br />e sure we are getting what we are paying for. Butler, advised that <br />in this case we are asking contractors to put up performance <br />onds. The requirements on these are much more extensive <br />ft detail and firm than in previous projects. We had no <br />recourse. Butler said in the past if the work was not completed, or <br />of completed satisfactorily, we had no recourse on a performance <br />ond; however, we now require this. HUD has a list of the ac- <br />eptable bonding companies. We have been assured that Mr. <br />ichard Madison, with Madison Builders, will have a performance <br />ond; he must produce that in order to get the contract. <br />sident Nimtz said that he wished that we only could get others <br />bid. <br />r. Butler said more has been done in this project (E -7) than <br />n any other project to promote interest, and more will be done <br />o get others interested.
