7.
91
0
ROGRESS REPORTS (Cont'd
A= 109'SE' #1: No tenants in this project at this
time.
R -57: We have no tenants in this project
at this time.
EXT MEETING
'he next meeting of the Redevelopment Commission will be at NEXT MEETING,
0:30 a.m., Friday, October 4, 1974, in the Office of the OCTOBER 4, 1974
iepartment of Redevelopment.
UESTION AND ANSWER SESSION:
Orange Street Improvements:
In answer to Mr. Karl King's question on this subject, ORANGE STREET
Mr. Lennon advised it appears that the tracks will be IMPROVEMENTS
pulled out from the Olive Street all the way down the
South Shore tracks, and that is under the Board of
Public Works. It was a Model Cities grant.
In response to Mr. King's question if there will be
any land available for commercial use along Orange
Street, Mr. Lennon advised that will be private develop-
ment. We are not involved in any relocation costs at
all. Under the present right -of -way, they will be ex-
panding, he believed, 120 feet with the median strip
if at all possible, but that there will not be any
relocation costs involved.
As to Mr. King's question if we would encourage develop-
ment along that area, Mr. Lennon advised that we do and
it is zoned such that with the two blocks from that
area, they now have 15 acres of land that would be
available for light manufacturing and that type of
development, and there would definitely be commercial
places available. It would be our encouragement on
either side of Orange Street. It it. geared right now
as residential. It is not geared for industrial for
either side.
Block 6, R -66:
Mr. Marchelewicz asked when that land is put up for BLOCK 6, R -66
bid, if there will be stipulations on that land too- -
past use type of thing? Mr. Lennon advised that is the
state law. Relating to the 16 acres, there will be some
stipulations on it; e.g., there has to be public access
to the pedestrian bridges and to the river front. There
will be an easement required.
- 19 -
