a
NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd)
On motion by Mr. Chenney, seconded by Mr. Wiggins and
unanimously carried, the final design work on the
Plaza Parkway (Block 6), was approved, as above speci-
fied, subject to HUD, Commission Legal Counsel, Board
of Public Works and the Park Department approval.
e. Force Account A reement with the Bureau of Streets,
Phase II -E, R- 6 roject: Authorization was requested
to enter into a Force Account Agreement with the Bureau
of Streets, subject to HUD and Legal Counsel approval,
with the contractual work not to exceed $18,300.00,
materials $12,450.00, labor and materials $3,040.00--
the cost of the complete work is not to exceed $33,790.00.
Mr. Lennon said this is referred to as "the wrap -up"
phase of the Downtown area. We have budgeted $45,000.00
and that has been approved by HUD. We should be within
the budget, unless a change order would be involved for
some reason.
In reference to Mr. Wiggins' question if this will com-
plete all the street surfacing, Mr. Slabaugh, our en-
gineer, advised it covers the east -west streets -- LaSalle,
Washington, Jefferson, Wayne and those parts of the
east -west streets down on the Mall that were on the
previous contract. This is to include everything, inter -
sections as welkin reference to Mr. Wiggins' second
question. Mr. Lennon said this also includes the wheel-
chair ramps, curb cuts, and everything that is to be done
there.
On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Rev. Williams and
unanimously carried, the Force Account Agreement with
the Bureau of Streets, Phase II -E, R -66 Project, was
approved as noted above.
FORCE ACCOUNT
AGREEMENT WITH
BUREAU OF STREE
APPROVED, II -E,
R -66 PROJECT
f. Electrical. Power Hook -Ups: Authorization was requested ELECTRICAL
for the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company to install POWER HOOK -UPS,
electrical power hook -ups on Jefferson and Plaza (across PLAZA AREA
from the Sherland Building), R -66.
Mr. Lennon advised this would be a meter situation where
the vendors will be paying for their own electricity.
We would be providing the hook -up, as this is an eligible
cost as it relates to the Plaza. We cannot penalize the
two -block area (supergraphic) because it is not completed.
Mr. Louis N. Wilcox, Plaza Director, received an estimate
from Indiana & Michigan Electric Company for approximately
$500.00. In reference to Rev. Williams' question that
we only have one estimate, Mr. Lennon advised we would be
contracting with I &M and they would be subcontracting the
work.
- 17 -
