NO. 5 -11, R -57 <br />On m tion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Wade and unanimously, <br />carried, the above Option Agreement was approved and the <br />Pres' dent authorized to execute. <br />g. Indianapolis, Indiana, Worksho Commission approval <br />was equested for one staff member Mr. Tony Germano, Staff <br />Architect), to attend this Workshop, on July 22 and 23, 1974, <br />on R using Railroad Stations. There is no registration fee. <br />Mr. . Jay Nimtz, President, Board of Trustees, said that <br />Sout hold will be sending some of the board members to this <br />work hop /conference. This will be national in scope and the <br />conf rence speakers are excellent. He suggested Mr. Lennon <br />also attend this session if at all possible. <br />The workshop will explore methods for adapting railroad stations <br />to contemporary needs in communities with diminished or defunct <br />rail service so that the buildings can remain a useful part of <br />America's architectural heritage. The purpose of the workshop is <br />to gather information and view on some of the available legal and <br />finavicial techniques and networks of alliances for rehabilitating <br />stations. This information is to be incorporated in a workbook <br />that will be published in the fall for wide distribution: <br />Mr. Wade inquired whether AMTRAK has changed their schedule or <br />whet er there is still a chance of getting the Boston -New York <br />passenger run through South Bend. Mr. Lennon advised Mr. John <br />Kage is working on this and that we will have an answer to <br />the Commission on this subject. <br />On M . Nimtz's recommendation, motion was made by Mr. Wiggins <br />for pproval of two staff members to attend the above workshop, <br />seco ded by Mr. Wade and unanimously carried. <br />h. Advisory Committee Appointment for Southeast Side: <br />Mayor Jerry J. Miller appointed Reverend Frank Senn and Miss <br />Gloria Stokes as members of the Advisory Committee for the <br />Sout east Side Neighborhood Development Program to represent <br />the froject area residents. These are two residents from the <br />area and the staff had recommended these two be named, and <br />Comm Lblic sion concurrence was requested prior to the Mayor making <br />the announcement. <br />Motign so made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Wade and unani- <br />mously carried. <br />TWO STAFF MEMBERS <br />AUTHORIZED TO <br />ATTEND WORKSHOP, <br />IN INDIANAPOLIS, <br />JULY 22 & 23, 1974 <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />APPOINTMENT: <br />Rev.
