6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd) <br />Additional 3' x 6' concrete was found underneath the <br />support structure. Mr. Lennon requested Mr. Slabaugh <br />to check out the possibility of using dynamite to break <br />this type of concrete. Mr. Slabaugh said that Jackson <br />Wrecking Company will not know the extent of the footings <br />until he digs underneath it. Footings are placed on top of <br />footi gs to go below the water level - -quick sand. Mr. <br />Wiggi s advised that we have used dynamite in the past. <br />The request is for a time extension only, no additional <br />funds. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unani- <br />mousl carried, Change Order No. 2 to Demolition and Site <br />Clear nce Contract No. 34 was approved for extension of time <br />to Ap it 16, 1974. _ <br />d. Change Order No. 10 to Contract No. 5: This contract <br />is with The Hickey Company, for the River Bend Plaza, R -66 <br />Project. The change order is for an increase in contract <br />amount of $7,780.56, with time completion unchanged. Extra <br />work aas involved due to canopy footing revisions which were <br />in co flict with the underground utilities and the reduction <br />in size of the vault at Martha's Beauty Shop was in conflict <br />with a canopy footing. Under emergency clause our staff had <br />authorized this work to be done, with the price to be worked <br />out aid agreed to by the Commission. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unani- <br />mously carried, Change Order No. 10 to Contract No. 5, for <br />an increase in contract amount of'$7,780.56, was approved. <br />e. John G. Pence Associates Reuse Appraisal Contract: <br />This contract is for reuse appraisals of redevelopment sites, <br />in am unt not to exceed $400.00, in the Merry.AVenue Project. <br />Mr. Lennon advised this is the eight acres of land the Model <br />Citie3 purchased from South Shore in conjunction with the <br />MerIt Avenue Project.
