7. <br />PROGRESS REPORTS (Cont'd) <br />2) General Services Administration: A meeting <br />GENERAL SERVICES <br />will be held with Congressman Brademas' staff <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />and we should be cognizant that whatever developer <br />demonstrates an interest in that land that some. <br />consideration should be given for the need for <br />parking that will be required for the old Post <br />Office. <br />3) W my an's: Mr. Lennon advised we have received <br />WYMAN'S <br />a letter from Mr. R. W. Goheen requesting the <br />status of the Wyman building for a Mini Mall <br />they are planning at that end. We advised him <br />we would be happy to work with him in any way <br />we can to assist in securing a buyer for that <br />land. This building was not on our original <br />acquisition list submitted to HUD for approval, <br />and therefore no money was appropriated for <br />acquisition or rehabilitation. <br />We will provide staff estimates as he needs <br />further information from us. <br />4) S. S. Kresge Company: In their letter of <br />S.S. KRESGE COMPANY <br />December 17, they informed us they would <br />have an answer to us in six weeks. They <br />hope to have something to us in approximately <br />seven days. <br />5) Status of Generator Plant: The Civic Center will <br />STATUS OF GENERATOR <br />be demolishing the Generator Plant on the Island. <br />PLANT <br />The specifications are being prepared and will <br />be going out for bid. The City has this amount <br />budgeted. We will only be providing demolition <br />inspection. <br />6) Department of Public Welfare Move: Our Mr. Harri- <br />DEPT. OF PUBLIC <br />son Miller met with the County Commissioners a.n <br />WELFARE <br />this move and how we are involved with it. They <br />are to be in their new quarters by March 15. <br />b. Merry Avenue Project: Mr. Lennon advised Madison. <br />MERRY AVENUE <br />Scott, a liquor store, has requested a transfer of <br />PROJECT <br />license which has been granted. We anticipate he will <br />be out in the next ten days and have this on the bid <br />demolition. We will be reimbursed by Model Cities. <br />This will be at no cost to us. <br />c. N.D.P. A -10 Project: Mr. Lennon advised both the <br />N.D.P. A -10 <br />Model Neighborhood and the Southeast projects are <br />PROJECT <br />moving. A Southeast side meeting was held Saturday <br />with the parties involved regarding the concept for <br />the total area as well as park development. Plans <br />for the fire station are progressing. <br />- 12 - <br />
