We are just requesting permission to send <br />to appraisers to _request what they would charge per lot- - <br />mation inquiry - -if we go ahead with the project. These <br />would not be used for acquisition. This would just be <br />t step to get the basic information. This is not a re- <br />spend any funds. <br />On.moti n by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Wade and unanimously <br />carried, staff was authorized to get estimates on appraisal <br />costs per lot on the East River Bank Project from appraisers- - <br />no funds are to be expended. <br />APPRAISAL COST <br />ESTIMATES AUTHORIZED, <br />EAST RIVER BANK PRO- <br />JECT <br />d. <br />Block 6 Temporary <br />Parking: <br />Approval was requested for <br />BLOCK 6 TEMPORARY <br />the Executive <br />Director to <br />negotiate <br />for temporary parking <br />PARKING NEGOTIATIONS <br />spaces <br />on Block 6, R -66, <br />subject to <br />Commission approval. <br />AUTHORIZED, R -66 <br />Mr. Lennon advised he anticipates when the Civic Center begins, <br />the pa kern now on the eleven -acre Civic Center site will have <br />troublE finding parking. We will need parking for an additional <br />1,000 ars approximately. Mr. Lennon said he would like to <br />negoti to for additional parking spaces and the authority to work <br />out so e type of lease or program for that area. <br />On mot on by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Wade and unanimously <br />carried, the Executive Director was authorized to negotiate <br />for temporary parking spaces on Block 6, R -66, per above. <br />e. Change Order No. 9 to Contract No. 5: This Contract CHANGE ORDER NO. 9 <br />is with The Hickey Company, and the Change Order is for an TO CONTRACT NO. 5 <br />increase in contract amount of $12,294.80 to cover the replace- APPROVED, R -66 <br />ment arid maintenance items in the River Bend Plaza, Project <br />Indian R -66. <br />Mr. Lennon advised several months ago the Commission had re- <br />quested our engineering consultant obtain estimates from the <br />genera contractor for these maintenance items for the River <br />Bend Plaza. Maintenance items were not included in the con- <br />tract and by getting materials from the contractor we would <br />be able to save 15% to 20 %, rather than purchasing these items <br />when the Plaza is completed. These would be for replacement <br />items hat may be damaged to keep the area safe for pedestrian <br />use. <br />Commissioners Wade and Wiggins both advised this was discussed <br />and mer Commission approval in the past. After completion <br />of the Plaza, the Park Department will probably have the <br />responsibility for the maintenance of the RIVER BEND PLAZA. <br />Mr. Wi gins reaffirmed that this is just part of smart planning <br />for tha future. We know that maintenance is required and it is <br />-8- <br />
