6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd) <br />The cther item is the understanding and intent of the parties <br />that it is in the public interest to provide at least one <br />central transfer point for 'bus passengers within the down- <br />town business area. If the Lessee determines that the subject <br />premises are appropriate as one such transfer point, it is <br />the understanding and intent of the parties to work towards <br />a per anent development of the grade level of the premises as <br />a per anent bus transfer point for the downtown business area. <br />As soon as this Commercial Lease is executed, the South Bend <br />Public Transportation Corporation will pay for the above im- <br />prove ents, as approved in their meeting. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Rev. Williams and unani- <br />MOUS4 carried, the Commercial Lease with the South Bend Public <br />Trans ortation Corporation was authbrized, as noted above, for <br />execu ion. <br />1. Agreement with South Bend Public Library: Authori- <br />zatiol for the execution of an Agreement with the South Bend <br />Publi Library was requested to mutually agree pursuant to <br />the p ovisions of Section 3 of Article I of the Contract <br />for S le of Land for Redevelopment by a Public Body entered <br />into etween the parties hereto on September 21, 1973, the <br />Grantor shall deliver to the Grantee the deed and possession <br />of the Property which is the subject of said Contract and <br />described in Schedule A, as Disposition Parcel No. 8 -17, <br />containing 10,943.67 square feet. The sale price of this <br />land as $79,888.79. <br />The South Bend Public Library has five years to begin con- <br />struction and seven years to complete. They will need to <br />receive approval from the Urban Design Committee for the <br />building concept and then before the Redevelopment Com- <br />missioners for approval. <br />On motion by Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr. Wade and unani- <br />mously carried, the above Agreement was approved with the <br />South Bend Public Library and the President and Secretary <br />authorized to execute. <br />e. Quit -Claim Deed for Disposition Parcel No. 8 -17: <br />Authorization was requested for the execution of the <br />Quit -Claim Deed, for the above, on or before March 1, <br />1974, for Disposition Parcel No. 8 -17, R -66. <br />This d cument was prepared by our Legal Counsel and <br />approv 1 was requested for the President and Secretary <br />to exe ute. <br />On mo 9 on by Rev.
