Chan a Order No. 2 to Demolition and Site Clearance <br />Contract No. 32: This is in reference to t e wall that is <br />next to Business.Systems, which is a common wall between the. <br />two buildings. We have an obligation to restore the wall <br />to a mutually satisfactory structural condition by.HUD guide- <br />lines. The contractor is requesting a $500.00 increase to <br />Item 2 because the architect's drawing did not scale the_same <br />as actual field measurements. The demolition contractor is <br />Julius O'Neal Trucking Company and they have done a very <br />fine job. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Wade and unani- <br />mously carried, Change Order No. 2 to Demolition and Site <br />Clearance Contract No. 32 was approved for an increase in <br />contract price of $500.00, with no change in time. <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />M <br />on <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 <br />TO DEMOLITION AND SITE <br />CLEARANCE CONTRACT NO. <br />32, R -66 <br />1) Hickey Request on I.B.M.. Building: Mr. Lennon IBM VARIANCE AUTHORIZED, <br />advised of letter from Mr. Michael G. Browning, R -66 <br />Director of Marketing and Sales, The Hickey Company, <br />requesting they be granted a variance of two (2 <br />feet to develop the final working drawings and <br />specifications for the IBM Building .to be constructed <br />at 215 South St. Joseph Street. It is necessary to <br />design the exterior footings in such a way that they <br />will extend three (3) feet past the property.line. <br />These footings will be located seven (7) feet below grade <br />level. At the completion of the construction., the side- <br />walk would be replaced at its original location. No <br />inconvenience or safety hazard will be caused by this <br />request to the general public, nor will the footings <br />interfere with the right -of -way of any public under- <br />ground utilities. <br />We have checked with Mr. Thomas Oesterling, our <br />engineering consultant for the project, and also with <br />Mr. Forrest R. West, Building Commissioner, and they <br />foresee no problems with this request. <br />On motion by Mr. Wade, seconded by Mr. Wiggins and <br />unanimously carried, the above - requested variance <br />was authorized. <br />2) New Post Office Official Opening Ceremony, Saturday, <br />November 10, 1973—, —at a. m.: - W—erecei.ved an <br />official request from the Chamber of Commerce for <br />the Commissioners to attend the Official Opening <br />Ceremony for the new Post Office.
