(f) Fighting. A No person shall not fight,/ s bait, <br /> conspire to fight or bait, or keep, train or transport for the <br /> purpose of fighting or baiting, any animal required to be <br /> licensed under this article. A person who violates this <br /> subsection is guilty of an ordinance violation punishable by a <br /> fine of not more than two- thousand five hundred dollars <br /> ($2, 500 . 00) and shall be reported by the Department of Code <br /> Enforcement or its designated agent to the County Prosecutor' s <br /> office for prosecution under I .C. section 35-46-3-8 et seq. <br /> (g) Public property. An owner of an American Pit Bull <br /> Terrier or any other animal shall not cause or permit a person <br /> less than eighteen (18) years of age to walk, run, exercise or <br /> transport such animal on public property. Said animal must be <br /> muzzled when walking, running, exercising or being transported on <br /> public property by his owner or agent and must be kept under <br /> restraint by a leash. - _ - _ . _ ' - <br /> guilty of an ordinance violation punishable by a fine of not lcsa <br /> than thirty five dollars ($35 . 00) . <br /> (h) Notification by owner/agent. The owner or agent of any <br /> animal required to be licensed under this article shall notify <br /> the South Bend Police Department or the Department of Code <br /> Enforcement within four (4) hours if said animal is running at <br /> large, has been stolen, or has attacked a person or a domestic <br /> animal . "Seri-o nju y" shall not mean a nip from <br /> an animal . <br /> (2) If an animal -_ . _ _- <br /> kills or causes serious injury to a person, the animal shall be <br /> deemed a dangerous animal pursuant to section 5-27 . The <br /> ownership of said the animal shall be temporarily forfeited, and <br /> with the animal shall being humanely impounded_ and held pending <br /> disposition of the legal proccdures inatitut City for <br /> such violation.
