1997-2000 South Bend Fire Department Salary Ordinance <br /> Page 5 <br /> Section IV. Other Monetary Benefits. <br /> (a) 8-Hour Incentive Pay: An 8-Hour Incentive Pay of a total of$ 1,022 in 1997, a total <br /> of$1,055 in 1998, a total of$1,098 in 1999, and a total of$1,154 in year 2000 shall be paid to <br /> those individuals regularly assigned to work a forty (40) hour work-week (not to include <br /> temporary duty assignments (TDY). Said 8-Hour Incentive Pay shall also be paid to Officers in <br /> calendar years 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. <br /> (b) Inspectors: Those Engineers qualified and regularly assigned[not to include temporary <br /> duty assignments(TDY)] as an Inspector, shall be provided with duty shirts and badge, and shall <br /> be paid at the Inspector's salary classification. <br /> (c) Instructors: Shift Instructors qualified and selected to teach on-duty in-house <br /> instruction programs for rookie schools, driving, confined space rescue, rope techniques, water <br /> safety, watercraft techniques, CPR,and other authorized departmental instruction, shall be paid at <br /> the rate of$ 10.00 per hour up to a$ 1,500.00 maximum with any teaching thereafter requiring the <br /> approval of the Fire Chief. Other instructors qualified and selected to teach on-duty in-house <br /> instruction programs for rookie schools, driving, confined space rescue, rope techniques, water <br /> safety, watercraft techniques, CPR, and other authorized departmental instruction, may be paid at <br /> the rate of$ 10.00 per hour, upon the approval of the Fire Chief. Said hourly rate shall be paid <br /> over and above the individual's salary classification and shall be paid consistent with applicable <br /> regulations of the State Board of Accounts. <br /> (d) Certified SCBA Repair Specialists: Those Employees qualified, certified, and <br /> regularly assigned by the Fire Chief to perform self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) repairs <br /> shall be paid at the rate of$ 10.00 per hour up to a $ 1,000.00 maximum with any repair service <br /> thereafter requiring the approval of the Fire Chief. Said hourly rate shall be paid over and above <br /> the individual's salary classification and shall be paid consistent with applicable regulations of the <br /> State Board of Accounts. <br /> (e) Special Assignments: Employees assigned by the Fire Chief to perform special <br /> assignments (not including light duty) including but not limited to watercraft maintenance, <br /> apparatus maintenance,mapping,or other authorized departmental assignments, shall be paid at the <br /> rate of$ 10.00 per hour while performing such special duties. Said hourly rate shall be paid over <br /> and above the individual's salary classification and shall be paid consistent with applicable <br /> regulations of the State Board of Accounts. <br />
