Kentucky Street Bi opening was on May 23, 1973, at 10:00 A.M., E.S.T., in the Department of Redevelopment, and publicly opened with one bid received, out of two firms receiving bid documents: NAME OF CONTRACTOR Julius O'Neal Trucking Co. 110 West Donald Street Sou h Bend, Ind. 46613 BID AMOUNT $ 17,989.00 On ilotion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Rev. Williams and unanimously carried, Demolition and Site Clearance Contract No. 1 was awarded to Julius O'Neal Trucking Company, in bid amount of $17,989.00, and the President and Secretary be aut orized to enter into a contract, subject to Legal Counsel app oval and HUD concurrence. Mr. Lennon said the rationale for the $595.06 increase is outlined in the letter to the Commission. We asked them at that time to do some changes and the work was done after the original change order. Mr. Slabaugh said previously we had to lower driveways and all ys to get full 6" curb exposure. When the City Engineer would need to reseal, you keep picking up until there is no curb. On 3" exposure, rather than to save money now, we are making it according to city standards to drop alley driveway. On otion by Mr. Chenney, seconded by Rev. Williams and unanimously carried, the above motion was made. d.
