Mr. Helmen: <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />On motion by Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr. Chenney MINUTES APPROVED <br />and unanimously carried, the Minutes of Regular Meeting of <br />May 18, 1973 were approved. <br />4. NEW BUSINESS <br />a. Contracts for Phase III, Pedestrian_ Way, R -66 Project: PEDESTRIAN MALL <br />CONTRACT NO. 5, R -66, <br />(Ad ertising and bidders to be shown): AWARDED TO: <br />Mr. Helmen: Matter of new business for which the meeting HICKEY CONSTRUCTION <br />was called, and in fact the only business this CO., INC., AS <br />morning, has to do with the award of the contract STIPULATED <br />for the Pedestrian Way. As you men all well know, <br />we spent a lot of time last Friday, and again <br />today, studying the bids and I would ask the Com- <br />mission, at this point, whether someone will make the <br />award? <br />Mr. Wiggins: Mr. Chairman, I move that the contract for the <br />Pedestrian Mall, Contract No. 5, be awarded to <br />the lowest bidder, Hickey Construction Co., Inc., <br />subject to the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development approval, our Legal Counsel approval, <br />and if approved, by the Department of Redevelop - <br />ment, work schedule between the General Contractor <br />and all Subcontractors, and Contract No. 2, and <br />an acceptable negotiation with the Hastings Com- <br />pany complex as it relates to all the brick work, <br />and acceptance of the Jefferson Street Alternate, <br />and the final approval of our consulting engineer. <br />Revd Williams: Mr. President, I support the motion. <br />Mr. Helmen: You have heard Mr. Wiggins.' motion and seconded <br />by Rev. Williams. I will poll the individual <br />members : <br />Mr. Wiggins: Aye <br />Mr. Wade: Aye <br />Mr. Chenney: Aye <br />Rev. Williams: Aye <br />and myself (President Helmen): Aye. <br />Nays being "None ", the motion is unanimously carried. <br />Mr. Wiggins: I further move that the contract for the Pedestrian <br />Mall, Indiana R -66, Contract No. 2, be awarded to <br />the low bidder, Exterior Designing, Inc., at: <br />$206,474.00, subject to approval by the Department. <br />of Housing and Urban Development, to Department <br />Legal Counsel approval, an approved work schedule <br />3- <br />PEDESTRIAN MALL <br />CONTRACT NO. 2, <br />R-66, AWARDED TO: <br />EXTERIOR DESIGNING <br />INC., AS STIPULATE; <br />
