<br />AWARD BID — 2019 DEMOLITIONS, PHASE 2 - PROJECT NO. 119-079 (VACANT AND
<br />ABANDONED)
<br />Mr. Kyle Silveus, Engineering, advised the Board that on October 22, 2019, bids were received
<br />and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Silveus
<br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the following lowest responsive and
<br />responsible bidders:
<br />a) Ritschard Bros, Inc., 1204 W. Sample St., South Bend, IN 46619
<br />(1) Amount: $125,825; Division A
<br />b) Green Demolition Contractors, 523 Northbrook Dr., Michigan City, IN
<br />46360
<br />(1) Amount: $122,565; Division B
<br />Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that. the recommendation be accepted, and the bid be
<br />awarded as outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONTRACT — KIZER MANSION WINDOW REPAIR —
<br />PROJECT NO. 119-024R (WWDA TIF)
<br />Mr. Zach Hurst, Engineering, advised the Board that on October 22, 2019, bids were received
<br />and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hurst
<br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder
<br />J.W. Werntz & Son, Inc., 1002 Kerr St., South Bend, IN 46601, in the amount of $218,800 for
<br />the Base Bid only, subject to Redevelopment Commission approval. Therefore, Ms. Maradik
<br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, and the bid be awarded, and the contract
<br />approved as outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO REJECT BIDS — MUESSEL GROVE PUBLIC RESTROOM —
<br />PROJECT NO. 118-099R (VPA CAPITAL)
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Alicia Czarnecki, Engineering, requested permission to
<br />reject all bids for the above referenced project due to exceeding the budget. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. O'Sullivan and carried, the above request was
<br />approved.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — LAFAYETTE _BUILDING CLEANOUT — PROJECT NO. 119-098
<br />(RWDA TIF)
<br />Mr. Zach Hurst, Engineering, advised the Board that on October 22, 2019, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Mr.
<br />Hurst recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, HomeWorks Construction, Inc., 1511 Pulaski St., South Bend, IN 46613, in the amount
<br />of $13,550. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, and
<br />the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — OLIVE STREET STATION OFFICE HVAC EMERGENCY
<br />UPGRADES — PROJECT NO 119-077A (WATER WORKS OPERATING FUND)
<br />Mr. Zach Hurst, Engineering, advised the Board that on October 28, 2019, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced emergency project. After reviewing those
<br />quotations, Mr. Hurst recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive
<br />and responsible bidder, Ideal Consolidated, Inc., 806 W. Sample St., South Bend, IN 46601, in
<br />the amount of $56,500. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted, and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion,
<br />which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — COUNTY -CITY BUILDING OFFICE UPDATES — PROJECT NO
<br />118-079 (COIT)
<br />Mr. Adam Parsons, Central Services, advised the Board that on October 22, 2019, quotes were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotes, Mr. Parsons
<br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible quoter
<br />Brown & Brown General Contractors, Inc., 124 S. Elkhart St., PO Box 487, Wakarusa, IN 46573
<br />in the amount of $117,428 for the Base Bid plus Alternate No. 1 and No. 2. Therefore, Ms.
<br />Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, and the bid be awarded as
<br />outlined above. Ms. O'Sullivan seconded the motion, which carried.
