Bids are <br />to b received December 1, 1972, at 10:30 A.M., in <br />the epartment of Redevelopment. <br />Letter dated November 15, 1972, re Disposition <br />Parc 1 Nos. 2-13, 4 -31 and 4 -32: letter of intent, by <br />Mr. darren E. McGill, Attorney representing an investor <br />or i vestment group`, to submit a bid to purchase Disposi- <br />tion Parcel Nos. 2 -13, 4 -31 and 4 -32, for purchase price <br />of $ 5,000; $224,000 and $589,760 respectively, subject <br />to a tual square footage, was received. <br />The proposal is for the erection of a commercial building <br />or c mplex of commercial buildings, containing in the <br />initial phase at least 200,000 square feet of space, on <br />Disp sition Parcel Nos. 4 -31 and 4 -32, with the stipula- <br />tion that certain commitments be fulfilled by the De- <br />part ent of Redevelopment or the City of South Bend- - <br />one assurance being that the actual construction of the <br />parking garage complex proposed for Parcel No. 4 -1 be <br />comet nced at time of construction of the complex. Their <br />grou would be willing to lease at least 400 parking <br />spac s. <br />The roposal for Disposition Parcel No. 2 -13 is that it <br />be r tained as a landscaped park area for beneficial use <br />by o r community. <br />The hair, at this point, said we are honored to have <br />Mavo Miller with us: <br />he Mayor commended and thanked the Redevelopment <br />ommission for the fine work they have done, and <br />aid this community is very fortunate we have this <br />ype of Commission and leadership working for the <br />etterment of the City of South Bend. Mayor Miller <br />aid he has always had confidence in the program <br />nd urban renewal does not need to say it will ac- <br />omplish something, it already has.
