Christman
Construction Compay is the contractor for the building
owners and the principals of the construction company have
an int rest in the building. This makes them imminently
famili r with the problems of separating the basement area
from t e underwalk vault areas.
Mr. Taylor said we had agreed if the people would abandon
their vaults under the sidewalks, we would backfill them
and install new sidewalks, the reason being to encourage
abandonment of the vaults. The other solution would be to
replace the vault deck, which would be extremely expensive.
Mr. Ta for said we are deviating from the normal bidding
procedure and need Commission authorization to submit to
HUD fo approval.
On motion by Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr. Wiggins, and
unanimously carried, Commission approved request to
negotiate a Contract with Christman Construction Company,
compensation not to exceed $9,500.00, for Parcel No. 8 -13,
and the President and Secretary authorized to execute,
subject to Legal Counsel and HUD concurrence.
i.
H.
