7. PROGRESS REPORTS (Cont'd) <br />A written report from Renelda Robinson, in the Homemakers <br />Service Section, advises four of her personnel have been <br />going from house to house in the Northeast Area and in- <br />for ing the residents of the activities that are avail- <br />able at the Northeast Center through the Department of <br />Redevelopment. A contest is being sponsored for the <br />naming of the Northeast newspaper which will inform all <br />residents in the area of events on a weekly basis. Site <br />imp ovements in the E -3 area not yet completed are being <br />inv stigated. <br />Mr. William C. Ellison, Supervisor of the E -5 Project, <br />sub fitted a written report of his staff's activities for <br />Oct ber: <br />E -5: 9 initial inspections, 3 re- inspections, <br />7 G. sub., 3 grants, 7 final inspections, <br />2 loans and 1 investor loan. <br />The Youth Progress has been very impressive <br />and are doing a good job of cutting grass <br />and cleaning vacant lots. <br />Mrs. Margaret Rush submitted her activity report for <br />Oct ber. Survey shows 12 vacant dwellings in the E -5 <br />first action year, seven of which have been inspected, <br />thr a are up for sale, one home owner ill and living <br />wit another family, with one family refusing inspection. <br />The a were a total of 18 cases in the emergency repair <br />fund--leaking roofs are high on the list of emergencies. <br />The Youth Advocacy has completed 54 of the 96 lots. <br />g. Relocation Progress Report: Mrs. Dorothy Howell, <br />Director of Residential Relocation, submitted the follow- <br />ing report for her staff: <br />R-66: Relocation cases closed. Expecting five addi- <br />tional families to come on Workload. <br />33: Project closed. <br />E -3 Total workload 23 - -19 families and 4 individuals. <br />Five families and one individual has moved - -one <br />of the five families moved on their own. Remain- <br />ing workload 17 - -14 families and 3 individuals. <br />3 families have signed offer to purchase. One <br />family made application for elderly housing, <br />working with remaining workload. <br />Kal School Site: Project closed.
