HUD letter dated January 4, 1972: Mr. Stephen CONTRACT NO. 20, <br />Havens advised HUD is rejecting the bid of A & J Demolition BID AWARD REJECTED, <br />& Salvage Company. There is an apparent error in this bid R -66 <br />as it is over half the amount of the next bidder. HUD re- <br />quests either taking the next low bidder, O'Neal Trucking <br />Company, or submit an entirely new bid tabulation. <br />5. JOLD BUSINESS <br />$14,944.00. <br />Mr. laylor advised the contract had been awarded to the <br />low bidder, A & J Demolition & Salvage Company - -by Com- <br />mission action of December 3, 1971 -- however, the firm was <br />not eble to provide a bond. The Department of Housing and <br />Urbar Development would not accept the bid because it was <br />so f r off the estimate -- approximately $21,000. <br />Pres�ontract. dent Helmen requested a motion to rescind and re -award <br />the <br />Mr. Wiggins moved that we rescind the action of the pre- <br />vious-meeting in conformance with the request from HUD and <br />that we award the contract to the next lowest bidder, the <br />acce table bidder, O' Neal Trucking, under Contract 20, <br />R =66 in the amount of $14,944.00, and the President and <br />Secretary be authorized to enter into a contract, subject <br />to Legal Counsel approval. Motion seconded by Mr. Chenney <br />and unanimously carried. <br />b.
