S.T.A.R.T. Letter Dated December 16, 1971: <br />TEMPORARY S.T.A.R.T. <br />Mr. <br />J. Robert Clark, Director of the S.T.A.R.T. Program, <br />RECYCLING QUARTERS <br />was <br />in the audience and introduced by Mr. Ashenfelter. <br />AUTHORIZED, PARCEL <br />NO. 15 -5 & 15 -6, R -66 <br />Mr. <br />Clark said S.T.A.R.T. is requesting the use of the <br />former <br />Slicks Laundry building, 317 L.W.E., for temporary <br />facilities <br />as a collection center for their recycling <br />program. <br />He said they have land on which to place a <br />building <br />but are now operating in an open field. They <br />do rot <br />anticipate large volume of materials and will have <br />regular <br />involvement of volunteers at the site to take <br />carE <br />of any materials which may be left outside. <br />Mr. Bill E. Slabaugh, engineer, advised if the decision <br />is made to eliminate L.W.E. from Jefferson South, then <br />this building will be demolished; if L.W.E. is left in, <br />ther this building will remain. Also, if the building <br />is used for this purpose, the windows of the building <br />mus be boarded up to prevent objects from being hurdled <br />bre king glass. <br />Com ission was in agreement and motion was made by Mr. <br />Wig ins to let S.T.A.R.T. have the former Slicks Laundry <br />building to be used for this purpose, on a temporary <br />bas s, with details to be worked out with Mr. Slabaugh. <br />Mot on was seconded by Mr. Chenney and unanimously <br />car ied. <br />b. Michiana Area Council of Governments Letter NDP APPLICATION APPROVED <br />Dated December 13, 1971: In this letter, Mr. George L. BY MACOG FOR MODEL <br />Kruse, Jr., Executive Director, advised the application NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECT <br />for an NDP Program dated August 15, 1971 for the Model NO. 1 & SOUTHEAST SIDE <br />Nei hborhood Project No. 1, and the Southeast Side PROJECT NO. 1 <br />Pro ect No. 1, was approved by MACOG, as the Regional <br />Arei Planning Organization, on December 8, 1971. <br />-3- <br />
