6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd) Mr. Wiggins made the motion to authorize the variance as made by the Sign Committee, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unanimously carried. g. Commercial Lease: Mr. Hammerschmidt, Com- COMMERCIAL LEASE FOR mission Legal Counsel, advised the City is interested PARKING LOTS APPROVED, in three lots for parking facilities, using the surplus R -66 proceeds to apply on the bond fund for parking structures: 1) Lot No. 2, on North Michigan Street, Redevelopment Parcel �o. 1 -1, 1 -2 and 1 -3. 2) Lot No. 3, on South Michigan Street, Redevelopment Parcel No. 22 -1, 22 -12, 22 -11, 22 -10 and 22 -19. 3) Lot No. 4, on Wayne Street, Redevelopment Parcel No. 14 -4. These parki g lots were discussed previously, and Lot No. 1, City Hal , Redevelopment Parcel No. 2 -6, has been eliminated, and is not included in the lease. This lease is on a month -to -month basis, commencing December 1, 1971, in the amount of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per lot, per month. Exhibit A attached to the Lease stipulates any and all improve ents to be made and the agency assigned. On motion bY Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr. Wiggins, the above Commercial Lease was approved between the South Bend Redevelopment Commission and the Board of Public Works and Safety of Civil City of South Bend. Motion unanimously carried. h. Option, R -66: Mr. Hammerschmidt, Commission Legal Couns 1, requested Commission authorization bf one (1) Option Agreement, in the Central Downtown Urban Renewal Project, R -66, for Parcel No. 9 -5, located at 114 West Washington Street. Mr. Wiggins moved the Option Agreement be accepted and the Preside it be authorized to sign. Said motion se- conded by Rev. Williams and unanimously carried. i. Agreement for Sale of Improvements on Real Estate: Mr Hammerschmidt, Commission Legal Counsel, presented a agreement between Marie Bernero, Seller, and the South Bend Redevelopment Commission, Buyer. He advised qe are going to purchase the building only, seller, Mare Bernero, is going to enter into a long- term lease arrangement with the Family Book Store. We are to closa this sale no later than February 1, 1972.
