6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd) <br />Mr. Wiggins made the motion to authorize the variance <br />as made by the Sign Committee, seconded by Mr. Chenney <br />and unanimously carried. <br />g. Commercial Lease: Mr. Hammerschmidt, Com- COMMERCIAL LEASE FOR <br />mission Legal Counsel, advised the City is interested PARKING LOTS APPROVED, <br />in three lots for parking facilities, using the surplus R -66 <br />proceeds to apply on the bond fund for parking structures: <br />1) Lot No. 2, on North Michigan Street, Redevelopment <br />Parcel �o. 1 -1, 1 -2 and 1 -3. <br />2) Lot No. 3, on South Michigan Street, Redevelopment <br />Parcel No. 22 -1, 22 -12, 22 -11, 22 -10 and 22 -19. <br />3) Lot No. 4, on Wayne Street, Redevelopment Parcel No. <br />14 -4. <br />These parki g lots were discussed previously, and Lot No. <br />1, City Hal , Redevelopment Parcel No. 2 -6, has been <br />eliminated, and is not included in the lease. <br />This lease is on a month -to -month basis, commencing December <br />1, 1971, in the amount of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per lot, per <br />month. Exhibit A attached to the Lease stipulates any and <br />all improve ents to be made and the agency assigned. <br />On motion bY Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr. Wiggins, the <br />above Commercial Lease was approved between the South <br />Bend Redevelopment Commission and the Board of Public <br />Works and Safety of Civil City of South Bend. Motion <br />unanimously carried. <br />h. Option, R -66: Mr. Hammerschmidt, Commission <br />Legal Couns 1, requested Commission authorization bf <br />one (1) Option Agreement, in the Central Downtown Urban <br />Renewal Project, R -66, for Parcel No. 9 -5, located at <br />114 West Washington Street. <br />Mr. Wiggins moved the Option Agreement be accepted and <br />the Preside it be authorized to sign. Said motion se- <br />conded by Rev. Williams and unanimously carried. <br />i. Agreement for Sale of Improvements on Real <br />Estate: Mr Hammerschmidt, Commission Legal Counsel, <br />presented a agreement between Marie Bernero, Seller, <br />and the South Bend Redevelopment Commission, Buyer. <br />He advised qe are going to purchase the building only, <br />seller, Mare Bernero, is going to enter into a long- <br />term lease arrangement with the Family Book Store. We <br />are to closa this sale no later than February 1, 1972. <br />The Family ook Store plans will be submitted to the <br />Design Revi w Committee as soon as possible, no later <br />than Februa .v 1st. <br />and the <br />OPTION AGREEMENT <br />AUTHORIZED, PARCEL NO. <br />9 -5, R -66 <br />AGREEMENT FOR SALE <br />OF IMPROVEMENTS ON <br />REAL ESTATE APPROVED, <br />R -66 <br />
