University of Illlinois Authorization was re- TRAVEL APPROVED TO <br />questec for one staff member, Mr. Richard Madison' for UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS, <br />travel approval, to the University of Illinois,'.on MARCH 3, 1971 <br />Wednes ay, March 3, 1971. The subject matter is: <br />"Advan ed Training Techniques for Trainees." <br />On motion`by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Rev. Williams, <br />travel approval was authorized for Mr. Richard Madison. <br />Motion was unanimously carried. <br />m. <br />Summer Job Youth Program: A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc. <br />HOUSING CENTER BUILDING <br />is req <br />esting if there is a possibility of our providing <br />AUTHORIZED FOR USE BY <br />space curing <br />the summer months for Summer Job Youth Program..SUMMER <br />JOB YOUTH PROGRAM <br />They s <br />ggested the Housing Center Building, at 410 L.W.E. <br />They will <br />provide their own staff. <br />On motion <br />by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Rev. Williams, space <br />was authorized <br />for this Program in the Housing Center._ <br />Building, <br />at 410 L.W.E. Motion was unanimously carried. <br />71. PROGRESS <br />REPORTS <br />I` <br />a. <br />Public Hearing: Mr. Barbe, Associate Director, <br />PUBLIC HEARING, STANDARD <br />said that <br />under code grant, about: a year ago the BOCA, <br />REHABILITATION CODE AR <br />American <br />Public Health Association and six other code <br />RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES <br />associations <br />got together to develop a standard rehabi- <br />litation <br />code for residential structures. The second <br />3 <br />draft of <br />that code was being made available for public <br />hearing <br />and adoption in Chicago, Tuesday and Wednesday, <br />February <br />9 and 10, 1971, at the University of Chicago, <br />and Mr. <br />Madison, our Rehabilitation Director, was <br />authorized <br />to attend that public hearing. <br />There will be a third draft, prior to the adoption. <br />Final judgment to be made by April 15th deadline. <br />Congress is taking this Code under advisement. There <br />seemed to be a negative vote registered at this meeting. <br />Variances in localities, areal, weather, etc., contri- <br />buted t10 this. <br />b. Business Relocation: Mr. Becker advised four BUSINESS RELOCATION, <br />claims for moving expenses -- totalling $14,003.96 -- CENTRAL DOWNTOWN URBAN <br />are before the Commission for approval today. Also RENEWAL PROJECT, R--66 <br />submitted is one Small Business Displacement Payment, <br />in the amount of $2,500.00, bringing the total of all <br />claims ko $16,503.96. <br />-10- <br />
